形態特徵

• Annual, herbs, ascending; stems juicy.
• Leaves opposite, unequal, succulent, narrowly obovate to obovate-oblong, to 6 mm long, 2.5 mm wide, apex acute to obtuse, margins entire, base cuneate, obscurely pinnate-nerved; petioles ca. 2.5 mm long.
• Male inflorescences axillary, subsessile, in cymose glomerules, ca. 3 mm long; bracts free. Female inflorescences axillary, nearly sessile, in aggregated glomerules. Male flowers sometimes tinged with purplish-red spots at summit; sepals 3 or 4, connate about halfway, valvate, dimorphic, hoodlike and corniculate or cymbiform. Female flowers with 3 sepals; sepals connate at base, very unequal; staminodes 3; ovary glabrous, oblong.
• Achenes warty on surface, ellipsoid.

分布

• 台灣 : sunny, moist roadsides, ditches and open slopes at low to medium altitudes throughout the island.
• 世界 : Native to South America, widely naturalized in tropical and subtropical areas worldwide.
